Surprisingly, GoDaddy has one of the most customizable VPS hosting service around: you can choose between several Windows and Linux operating systems for your server, as well as choosing your preferred control panel (i.e. cPanel). For a former domain registrar they have done pretty well in the VPS arena.
Their VPS plans are priced around the same as other VPS hosts, but with these coupons, you can get great discounts off of their prices.
Tips for Saving:
- Lock in savings up front – Godaddy automatically gives you a discount for VPS plans that are 1 year or longer. Hosting companies always give the deepest discounts up front. You can combine the coupon codes above with the already discounted prices GoDaddy will offer you for purchasing plans of one year or longer for even better savings.
- No need to purchase extra encryption – Godaddy gives you a free secure socket layer certificate with all VPS plans. Don’t pay for something you were going to get for free anyway! You also get free Google Adwords, Bing Ads, and Facebook Advertising credit with all VPS plans.
Features of GoDaddy’s Linux Hosting Plans
Once you’ve selected your base plan you can then customize your server based o on your business’ needs. If you think you will be getting a huge amount of traffic or you will be serving video or other large files then you can purchase additional bandwidth at $16.99/mo per terabyte. You can choose to have no control panel pre-installed and use your own, or you can have GoDaddy install cPanel and WHM Unlimited for you.
What is WHM Unlimited?
WHM is Web Host Manager and it gives you backend access to cPanel, so that you can create and manage multiple cPanels if you’d like. You might be interested in this if you intend to resell space on your VPS and want each of your clients to have their own cPanel. Even if you only intend to host your own site giving each of them their own cPanel creates an extra security layer as even if a hacker gets into one site it won’t be easy for them to access all the other ones. You are also only able to have one SSL certificate per cPanel, so if you have multiple sites that need an SSL certificate then you will need multiple instances of cPanel. Google has recently announced that it will be taking SSL certificates into account as a ranking signal, so you might want to have one. We have coupons for purchasing SSL certificates from GoDaddy here.
More about Godaddy’s VPS Hosting Service:
There are a few coupon codes out there that promise 50% off Godaddy’s hosting services. Keep in mind that those only apply to shared hosting plans, and not VPS hosting. But if you purchase multiple years, combined with the above coupon codes, you can get a 50% discount off for yourself or your company’s website.
